About Barbara RobertsonBarbara Robertson

Barbara Roberstson began her career as a primary school teacher in London and Hampshire. She lived and taught in Canada for many years and her children were born there. She continued her studies in Education at McGill University. On returning to the UK she again taught in London before moving to County Durham. The historic heritage and scenic beauty of the region influenced her long held ambition to write for children. Viking Ventures evolved after many visits to York and, A Summer of Trees was the result of frequent trips on the number 7 bus between Darlington and Durham where there are so many varied and beautiful trees to admire. She is a lover of the outdoors, history, swimming, music, theatre, the arts and travel. A sequel to Viking Ventures is currently being prepared where the three children, Harriet, Jake and Mathew find themselves transported to a Medieval Castle and become involved in foiling a plot to overcome the Lord of the Castle.
